Anacortes

Last week I had my second adventure of the year. My brother had the day off of school, so we decided to head out to Anacortes, Washington for a day of photography and fun.

We got up and were on the road by 9:30am, stopping for some coffee on our way. The drive consisted of great conversation and good music. Just over an hour later, we arrived at our destination.

Cap Sante Park overlooks the marina, Fidalgo Bay, and Hat Island. Even though it was a slightly cloudy day, the view was still stunning. We spent a good couple of hours just climbing the rocks and shooting photos, before we headed down to the lower beach known as Rotary Park.

By this time, my back started to hurt again so I knew it was time to have a rest before driving home. We decided to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant called Rockfish Grill. I would give the food a 6/10 as it was pretty mediocre, but I would give a shout out to their waffle fries.

Once our stomachs were full, we headed back home.

Kayak Point

My first adventure of 2017 took place in the first week of January; a fun, family trip to Kayak Point, Washington. It's my family's favorite place to go for a day out.

The weather was freezing cold on this day, not surprising for a winter's day at the beach. We had to bundle up in big coats, wrap ourselves in blankets, and sit by the fire we managed to make. My back was hurting pretty bad from having been in a car accident just before Christmas, but I was so excited to get out of the house for a bit.

I managed to go for a walk down the beach with my brother, bringing my camera with me. We captured quite a few shots and made some good memories. It was a great way to kick off the New Year!

And We're Up!

We're up and running again.

If you have been here a while, you know this space has changed a lot over the years and that it goes quiet quite often. Well, I can't really guarantee much this time around either, but I really am going to try.

My life has changed so much over the years since starting this blog back in 2010.

When I started out, this space was dedicated to fashion. I was still in high school and had a clear picture of where my life was going to lead me. I posted outfit photos and was an avid member of the Lookbook community. However, as I grew up and the Internet started to change, it became more of a lifestyle blog without a direction. I found that my interest in fashion had dulled and I no longer knew what I was going to do with the rest of my life. I started to incorporate more photography, but I never felt satisfied with how the blog posts were turning out. Eventually, when I found myself discovering film, I tried to find a way to incorporate that too. Let's just say it didn't really work. It wasn't until I spent the summer of 2015 in England that I really discovered what I liked about this space and that's the chance to document my photography adventures.

So, the reboot is finally here. It seems like the opportune time. I'm an unemployed, college graduate, who was unsuccessful in starting a career in Hollywood, with more than enough time on her hands; A person who needs to reconnect with why she is passionate about digital imagery. So, let the photo adventure blog be launched!

I'm going to use this space to write about the adventures I go on to get my photographs. It seems like a great way to share the photos that don't make it into my Portfolio, but also a great way to remember the little things that happen on the journey to get the perfect shot. I think it will also be a great way to get back into my writing too.

I'm hoping to use this year to get back to doing the things that I'm passionate about. I'm hoping to create more. More photos, more films, and more blog posts!

So, here is to a new year, a new blog, new adventures, and many new photos!
